Visit IES A Sardiñeira to Barcelona

Jun 23, 2026

On 2, 3 and 4 June, the teachers of the Chemistry training cycles involved in the project “Modelling of biotechnological processes in virtual environments based on the Internet of Things” travelled to Barcelona to hold a working meeting with the teachers of the IQBB.

During the second day they visited the #Expoquimia fair, where they had the opportunity to contact different companies in the bioreactor sector and learn about the latest technological innovations.

On the last day, they travelled to the Department of Engineering of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), where they were able to learn first-hand about the research projects they are developing and their pilot plants. Among them is the MELISSA project, promoted for the European Space Agency (ESA), an initiative of great interest in the field of biotechnology and life support systems for space missions.

This activity was carried out within the framework of the Grants for applied innovation and knowledge transfer projects in Vocational Training (2023 call).
