Barcelona will bring together international leaders in biotechnology at BAC 2026
From 7 to 10 July 2026, the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) will host a new edition of the Biotechnology Annual Congress (BAC), an event that is consolidating its position as a key meeting point between students, researchers and companies in the biotechnology sector, both nationally and internationally.
The congress is organised by ASBTEC (Associació de Biotecnòlegs de Catalunya), an organisation made up of undergraduate, master’s and doctoral students from all over Catalonia, and the Spanish Federation of Biotechnologists (FEBiotec). The initiative stands out for its voluntary nature and for the active role of students in the connection between science, business and society.
A space to connect science, talent and opportunities
BAC Barcelona 2026 will bring together participants from all over Spain and internationally in an environment designed to promote the exchange of knowledge and the generation of professional opportunities.
The program will include:
- Conferences with leaders in the scientific and business fields
- Round tables on current challenges in biotechnology
- Workshops aimed at professional development
- Networking spaces between students and companies
- Exhibition of scientific posters in competition format
It is in these networking spaces that the results of the project “Modelling of biotechnological processes in virtual environments based on the Internet of Things” will be presented. Attendees – both students and speakers and companies – will have the opportunity to test the virtual simulator of the bioreactor, creating a unique opportunity to disseminate and exchange ideas with key players in the sector.
